Top o’ th’ mornin’ (or afternoon… evening… night…) to ya! It’s St. Patty’s Day today and not just that, it’s also a new Bu blog day! Hope you’re wearing your greens. :D I know Bu would be. But his skin is green so he kinda cheats. That’s simply how he rolls, I suppose. I don’t actually have any holiday-specific images for this holiday but I got plenty of Bu for ya, and that should be more than a POT O’ GOOOLD for you! ;3

I think this week, I have a few badgey/portraity images for you to love and adore! We will start off with the always talented Katie-W (formerly known as -patches on dA).

I have commissioned Katie once in the past but have YET to post it! That surprises me, so you may soon see those images posted to the blog!! For now, I shall bring you the newest image from her that I commissioned. Images, technically. They are my and Neekko‘s official badges this year for conventions (mostly Anthrocon). We wanted something simple to convey but to represent us in them! I wanted the DS to represent my love of gaming and Neekko got the Cintiq for all of Neek‘s art love. The twist was that each item would feature the other character, and that’s what you see here! I love this, it’s such a clever and cute idea that was well executed. I love little Neek and little Bu in the screens. Adorable! I love the way Katie draws characters, so I’ll be sure to return to her someday if possible! <3 I also enjoy how they’re done traditionally on paper and laminated. Always more priceless that way. I’ll be wearing mine with pride! You can see it posted on Katie‘s FA account HERE!

And now we have some more fun with Dragon-Bu and Neekko! This time from the superartist Dumpysaurus. ^^

These portrait sketches were actually separate but I put them together in this order because it almost looks like they’re standing right next to each other. I wanted Bu to be drawn just having a love struck (or X3) expression and for Neekko‘s fursona to be nomming on sushi, since Neek loves the stuff! Dumpysaurus has always been a fun person to get Bu images from. Good range of loving expressions! Neekko looks very happy and Bu either looks like he wants a hug or wants some sushi. Maybe both? Dumpy also got these done quickly and time+quality=awesome! That’s a really lovely formula. I gotta say though that the hands are right there in the front, and they look great! I figure the chopsticks would be hard to pull of, but Dumpy got it done perfectly! You can see this and four other excellent sketches HERE!

Last but not least I can show off one of a few incomplete ideas Sablechan worked on for my latest commission with him! <3

This is probably one of my most favorite of the four Sable made before they were all scrapped during a Livestream show. I was lucky enough to have taken a day off work to relax when he chose to do these! Fairly simple image. I love the choice to make it all Bu backside. The tail would have been cool to see with the booty showing. And of course he’s jamming on his lil DS (the second DS appearance today on the blog!). It’s a fun perspective and I think it had some serious potential. Maybe some variation of this image will someday come to life! Until then, oogle on this sketch!
