Hey, folks! Christmas (and the majority of the holidays) have now come and gone. 2021 is now on the horizon. I’m definitely still stuck at home, but I am doing away with the “Quarantined Bu” title trend I’ve stuck with for most of the year. Time to move forward beyond that. During the holidays I’ve had a small handful of holiday-themed pics come around. So I do have some to show off now, hurray! Without further ado, here they are!

First up is a commission from the artist Orders-in-Bulk!

Beefy Bu! Another great adventure in this sketchy year – I think I’ve had more new artists drawing Bu in 2020 than most of the previous years of the past decade. OiB does an excellent job with a fun and simple holiday bust. <3 Simplicity is sometimes the right move with busts/icons and so we focus on just some flexing beefy holiday goodness. OiB knocked it out of the park and captured Bu’s look perfectly. Hopefully we’ll have the opportunity to do more Bu stuff together in the future! Thanks again, OiB!

Next I have a new icon courtesy of Beanyzilla!

Kissu :3 This was also a heafty year for Bu art from Zilla. This is one of THREE icons I’ve gotten this year?? Well there you go. Now I have one for the holidays. Again, simple concept and hilarious execution. The red scarf is a nice touch and complements the green to make this as Christmasy as possible within the narrow specs of an icon. Zilla asked for my consent to do a goofy face. I allowed it and I totally got it. Those are LIPS. Thanks to Zilla for another fantastic piece of Bu art. We are surely to see more in 2021, I have little doubt about it.

That’ll be all for today, sadly! Keeping it short and sweet so I can make sure it gets under the wire for New Years. 2020 was a pretty wretched year, and I rarely complain about how bad a year can be. At least as far as Bu art is concerned, it was actually really incredible. 2019 was a dead zone for Bu art because of a big financial adjustment from a long-distance move. I could have only gone up from there. Here’s to hoping for better things in 2021 and even MORE amazing Bu art. I hope you had a great holiday season and a happy new year. See you next month!
