Hey gang! Another Anthrocon has come and gone. This one is maybe my 12th, I believe. BUT it is the 10th one in which I am making a blog entry about my commissions from that weekend. That is a WHOLE DECADE of Bu blog entries about Anthrocon. I honestly can’t believe it. But here we are. It was a nice weekend and I’m glad I could go back (especially because I moved away from the convention’s local area earlier this year). So without further delay, here’s what I bought!

Here’s my first commission of the convention, courtesy of Shenanigan!

Lorge Bu! I kept it super simple for Shen because I haven’t had the chance to commission much of anyone these past several months. SO I just asked for some super beefy muscle growth. And of course Shen delivered in goofy spades. x3 Bu has “epic-everything” here, particularly that CHIN. I’m a bit frustrated that my sketchbook is juuusssst a smidge bigger than the bed of the scanner I use to get these pictures online. It’s as good as I can get but I’m happy with that. Thanks to Shen for another great commission, and I hope we can do it again sooner than next Anthrocon. :0

Next is a commission from Sprech4!

Surfing Samurai Bu! Here’s another one I got from Sprech4 and again it’s a solid gold perfect Bu commission. <3 The theme at Anthrocon this year was a surf pacific theme. I honestly didn’t think I would do anything with that but then I had the thought that doing another samurai Bu picture and add in surfing would be kind of a silly fun idea! Sprech4 delivered on the idea above and beyond anything I could have asked for. I just love when that happens. That is how you know you found the right combo for the right artist. x3 I may just need to get this one finished into a full-color digital version someday. o3o Thanks to Sprech4 for such wonderful work, as always!

Last we have a commission from SanthanVutha!

Sometimes I really try my hardest to not just commission the same people I commission every year. So I sought out at least one new artist. This year it was SanthanVutha and I tried to see what he could do with a simple heroic Bu-man piece. He did a wonderful job with his first jab at Bu! Fists up and ready to fight really works well with Bu since I always thought he was very much a no-weapons fighter (when I actually give him non-goofy material to work with haha XD) Thanks again to SanthanVutha for bringing Bu-man to life! <3

That’s a wrap for this one! Thanks for checking it out! I really hope we’ll do a year 11 of Anthrocon commissions next year. Sadly, there is no way to make it official since I no longer live in the area. If I can afford it though, I’ll be there! Anyway, see you guys next month for a new set of Bu things! <3
