Hello folks! Happy July to you all. This is yet another Anthrocon wrap-up entry. The convention was a few weeks ago and I’m only now getting though to posting it. XD This is also the 9th year of me doing these blog entries!! It’s my 11th Anthrocon but I didn’t get commissions for the first few years. Now-a-days I always get at least two or three. So without further delay, here they are!!
First we have the badge of the year from Neekko!
It’s Freddy-Bu! Neek wanted the badges to stick to that movie monster theme. My favorite choice would definitely be this one. Neek took a cue from the 4th Nightmare on Elm Street movie for this specific story here. The little meatballs are our favorite parts to this badge. So much so that we just kind of kept pointing at each of them throughout the weekend while I was wearing the badge. Thanks to Neekko for always bringing out all my convention badges! <3
First commission was from Shenanigan!
Zombie Bu!! Again, sticking with the movie monster theme here. I knew I could trust Shen with something horrific but fun. Oh, and of course hella beefy. x3 Shen did an incredible job and I love how detailed everything is here. <3 I cannot believe this is only the first time I’ve commissioned an undead Bu pic. Shen always know exactly what I’m looking for in our commissions and this is no exception. Thanks to Shen for yet another incredible sketch!
Next is a new one from LYCHgate!
Bu-Man in danger! Again, we’re doing the movie monster theme but Bu isn’t the monster this time. And really it’s a video-game monster but that’s fine! LYCHgate thought the best option here for Bu to fight is Ultros from Final Fantasy VI. I love LYCHgate‘s lines and ability to deal with the complexity of all those tentacles! Thank you for LYCHgate for giving me the chance to meet and get some art from her. :3
Next we have the final sketch I got that weekend from Sprech04!
It’s Devilman-Bu! Or at least Bu turning into Devilman. Sprech04 were completely on the same page with this commission and I am so incredibly happy with how this one turned out. I first commissioned Sprech04 at last year‘s Anthrocon and also adored the quality of the work. The lines are bold and have a lot of depth. I also enjoy a good demon TF from time to time. So this all works for me on many levels. <3 Thanks to Sprech04 for another wonderful commission! <3
That’s all for today! I hope you enjoyed the art as much as I enjoyed getting them. There’s something really great about commissioning artists face to face instead of online through email and social media. I love commissioning artists in general, but actual direct communication is really fun. I hope to do it again soon! Thanks for stopping by as always!
